Position Description Responsible for the development, coordination, administration and management of a unit.
Major/Essential Functions Oversee the Administrative Duties of the Office of Student Services for the Abilene SOP
Assist with Admissions and Interview Days
Oversee the day to day business operations of the SOP Student Services
Supervise the SOP Unit Supervisor
Oversee and assist with the Community Outreach activities, White Coat, Orientation, PreNaplex, Celebration of Excellence, Graduation and other events scheduled by the SOP and HSC
Provide Academic/Social/Personal Counseling to students
Oversee the Student Success Initiative for the Abilene campus
Assist with local recruiting events: includes some travel, public speaking, and projection of a positive image
Provide financial oversight of Student Services funds, travel, purchasing, and course fee needs
Assist with Honor Council and Title Nine needs
Support and Aid the Progression Committee of the SOP
Attend AACP/HSC Training yearly
Provide Course Scheduling Feedback
Maintain Membership in AACP and WTPA
Provide Interview Training for student Admission Committee members
Assist in production and managment of SSI interventions and tutor assignments
Assist with Student Council Meetings - 2 per semester
Conduct Inventory Reviews
Provide Faculty Support when needed - ADA and Proctoring for examinations
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications A Master's Degree in a field related to Education, Psychology, Counseling, Higher Education, and Student Success is preferred.
Excellence in written and verbal communication is essential.
The ideal applicant will possess strong skills in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheet manipulation, and Social Media.

Minimum Hire Rate 4185.67
Pay Statement Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
